Resources and Links

Hiking is enjoyed by many people, young and old, from all walks of life, and from many locales around the planet. While californiawinehikes.com offers tours that promise luxury accommodations, transportation, and haute cuisine, there are many who would enjoy the opportunity for a day of hiking and wine tasting but don’t have the budget for our higher-priced tours. Therefore, some of our one-day tours offer the possibility of carpooling to our wine-hiking venues.

day hikes

Because we wish to make our tours affordable for our guests, many of the one-day tours we schedule will require our guests to drive their own vehicles, or vehicles they have rented, to the trailhead and the winery. We heartily encourage carpooling, and will provide our confirmed guests with a selected location at which to meet for a carpool.

multi-day tours

If you’re planning to let us do the driving, you can be assured of clean, safe, reliable transportation in a luxury tour van. We work with a number of reputable local transportation companies who are greatly familiar with conveying passengers to and from venues in the wine country.

traveling to the wine country

For all of our tours, guests are responsible for getting to the venue (lodging site, winery, or trailhead) on the day their tour begins. Upon receiving a tour confirmation from each guest, we will follow up via email with additional details regarding the nearest airport, available transportation, driving directions, and hotel check-in (if applicable). However, from the moment you arrive at your venue to the moment you depart, you can relax and leave the driving to us.

For more information about transportation, please see our FAQ page.

local airports

The major and regional airports that service the California wine country are:

From coastal waterfalls to high mountain streams

From wildflowers to redwoods

And from trail to table.

Your experience with California Wine Hikes will leave you with sensory satisfaction, rekindled vigor, and indelible memories.

"A wonderful experience. Very well planned and organized, with a really fun group of people. Russ's considerable expertise in both explaining the flora and fauna we hiked through and the essentials of wine appreciation made the experience not just fun but educational, too."
— Andy U., Oakland, California
