tour description

One-Day Hike & Wine-Tasting Tour: a very easy & pleasant 4.4 miles
Once known as the Pine Ridge Ranch, a private cattle ranch of 12,230 acres, Henry W. Coe State Park was the home of Henry Willard Coe, Jr. and his family dating from 1905.

The hike
Imagine yourself taking an easy stroll to the top of the very aptly-named Pine Ridge. After lingering a while to gaze upon a fine view across rugged ridges and canyons, you'll see the monument built by Sada Coe over 40 years ago as a memorial to her father, the park's namesake. Next, you'll want to spend time at Frog Lake, then allow yourself to be mesmerized by a lovely hike along Flat Frog Trail. In March, the wildflowers along Flat Frog Trail are often quite spectacular in their abundance and variety, and you're sure to want your camera with you.

The wine tasting
A visit to Clos La Chance will be quite pleasant too! The winery’s Tuscan villa-styled architecture, manicured grounds, and painstaking approach to winemaking offer a surprising delight not expected by most who visit to taste their delectable wines.

The fun
The small size of your group will lend itself well to a well-rounded, quality experience perfect for learning, having fun, and making new friends. You can even learn about the wildlife and flora that you see on the trail, or broaden your wine knowledge. Take advantage of your guide’s many years of wine and trail experience! All you need is a desire to know more. And to have fun!

The details
