California Wine Hikes Custom Mini-Tours are perfect for singles, couples, a group of friends, or family. Like our fully-supported tours, we will arrange a wine and hiking tour in which you can each taste fine wines and enjoy a day of hiking at a pace that is just right for you, all with the services of a knowledgeable California Wine Hikes trail and wine guide.
What “self-supported” means A California Wine Hikes Custom Mini-Tour, in contrast to our Custom Group Tours, is a no-frills tour. You will definitely enjoy a good hiking and wine tasting experience; however, all guests are responsible for providing their own transportation, basic hiking gear, lunch/snacks, water, and funds to cover any wine purchases and/or tasting fees.
In that sense, it’s very similar to any other hike you might show up to. Only this time, you might learn something new! Your erstwhile guide will not only identify wildflowers and other critters for you, but can also steer you toward exceptional wines worth tasting — after your hike, that is!
Who can reserve a mini-tour Everybody of legal drinking age is welcome to schedule our single-day mini-tours; however, a two-guest minimum reservation is required.* If you alert a friend, coworker or family member to the possibilities, chances are your friend will be grateful that you made the effort to offer him or her a fabulous winehiking experience.

We’ll get back to you with a tentative tour plan, plus suggested alternate date(s), if necessary, and if all is agreeable, we'll ask you to make a deposit at that time via our shopping cart to reserve your Custom Mini-Tour. All paid guests will receive a detailed mini-tour itinerary. And, of course, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book a California Wine Hikes tour.
*To reserve a Custom Mini-Tour requires a minimum of two paid guests ($150); prepaid guests receive first scheduling priority. Alternately, try our full-service Custom Group Tours. Custom mini-tours must be booked at least 8 days in advance of proposed tour start date to confirm availability and are currently limited to San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties. Some calendar dates may not be available; promotional discounts do not apply.
**Your tour host will be limited to providing hiking and wine guide service for single-day tours only. Venue rental, lodging, meals and additional services are not included in Custom Mini-Tours.
