Michelle, we'll give the credit to Debbie, where it's due, and where I merely chanced to discover this Tide-to-go pen as not only blogworthy but potentially something of value for me and my readers. With the experience you've had with it, I'd have to say that the value is there! After all, wine, marinara, and ink (digital ink, anyway) are this winehiker's constant companions.

So I'm really glad you chimed in. Thanks for the great report!

Well OK, then, I'll look into Wine Out; my nearly-off-white-and-hopefully-remaining-so carpet may finally love me, red wine lover that I am. I'm also going to Target this weekend, ostensibly to look for that Tide pen. Not to mention that I gotta replace all those spilled wine glasses!

It never occurred to me to blog about these. I've been carrying them in my purse for 2 years now, and always have them on hand at home. The difference in this pen and say, Shout wipes, is that this is a "stain remover" and everything else is a "stain treater."
The pen works okay on small wine stains - especially if you get to the stain immediately. It also takes out marinara and ink. Those are my three big issues and the pen has yet to fail me.
For larger red wine stains at home, on my couch for instance, I use Wine Out. Wine Out is absolutely amazing. (https://www.gonzocorp.com/homeprod.htm) Wine Out never fails on my light colored carpet and couch. It's almost like a party trick when I make red wine spills disappear. I once washed a terribly stained (lost a whole glass) sweater set immediately after treating it with Wine Out and it came out spotless.
Needless to say, I talk with my hands a lot, sometimes with a wine glass in hand, which is why I'm well versed in stain remover. :)

A gadget that red wine lovers might want handy...

Lord knows I could keep a few of these happy little stain-removal pens handy in my dining room, in my truck, even in my Camelbak. But do they work? Only a dedicated wine blogger may know for sure....
