Pop a Fortune Corkie, be quoted, and win, too!
Ryan over at Calwineries passed along a fun tidbit today, and it represents an opportunity for free wine. Not only is the wine free, but it’s a magnum of Fantesca 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa County’s Spring Mountain appellation.
Says Ryan:
“For the past three vintages, Fantesca has printed quotes on their wine’s corks called Fortune Corkies. Who submitted those quotes? The people who drink their wine, of course.”
Of course you’ll have to earn that free wine. Though the Fantesca website doesn’t appear to state it, Ryan maintains that if your quote makes it onto one of Fantesca’s corks, you will win a 1.5 liter hand-bottled magnum of their 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon with your quote on its cork. Theoretically you can furnish your own quote rather than quote some famous person. I suggest drinking at least two glasses of wine first to get your creative juices flowing.
After reading Ryan’s post, I decided I’d submit three quotations to the folks at Fantesca. You gotta do what you can when you want free wine. How do you suppose they’ll stack up?
