Okay, after some close checking I have realized it is 2004, however it does NOT say “reserve.” the label says “2004 Petite Syrah” and “reserve” is nowhere to be found. Just thought I’d let you know since what I thought I had found probably sounded crazy to you! We do love what we’ve found though, no matter what it’s called.
Thank you for your response, I am so glad I’ve found this blog! I’ve actually never blogged, but wine is so worth it I’m keeping this bookmarked.

Tara, I’m glad you enjoyed my post. But better yet, I’m glad you were able to find and enjoy that bottle of EOS Petite Sirah. And what a great price, too.

With their tannin structure, most petites should last a few years if stored well. But golly, are you sure you bought the EOS Reserve 2004? That particular wine is no longer available from the EOS Winery website, but the 2005 vintage sells for $25.00 per 750ml bottle. No matter, though - you found a wine you like, and that’s the main thing.

Drink well, Tara, and come on back sometime!

I have never actually posted on anything like this, but the review is hilarious and I just found this wine at Grocery Outlet for $6.99 a bottle!!

I bought only one bottle, concerned it was past due - drank it last night with homeade enchiladas. Of course, I just returned to buy a whole case!

I don’t know if anyone will read this because I noticed the date says 2007, but I just thought I would tell about this amazing find. Isn’t it crazy that this bottle could be $6.99? Anyone know about how long it will last? Of course, we are planning on drinking it, but just wondering about lifetime expectancy.

I had a lot of fun writing this post. It just came naturally, too, seein’ as how I really did exclaim that venerable Chandlerism. And then a light bulb went on!

I won’t always write a WBW review, but two things made me want to do it this time: 1) I love Petite Sirah and I saw this as a way to keep myself patched into others’ interpretation of it - and there are nearly 60 others! So there’s plenty of good purply teeth-staining PS for me to seek out now. 2) Sonadora, you’ve supported me like nobody else has with your comments on this blog, and because this month is your first experience at hosting WBW, I knew I wanted to return the favor somehow. (Folks, you should check out Sonadora’s excellent compilation of reviews on her blog, Wannabe Wino.)
